The Power of Meditation According to Prophet Kofi Danso

How Meditation Can Improve Your Quality of Life

Introduction

The world has become so advanced with technology that people are in constant states of instant gratification. This is not a necessarily “good” state to be in because when the mind doesn’t get that instant gratification it begins to think negative and destructive thoughts. We’ve also seen an increase in stress due to the high pace of today’s society with a staggering 44% of people saying their stress has gone up in the past five years. If only they meditated. In this article we will discuss the power of meditation and what it can do for you both physically and mentally as discussed by Prophet Kofi Danso.

The Power of Meditation

Meditating is referred to as the focusing or silencing of the mind for an extended period of time, either for religious or spiritual purposes or as a form of relaxation. When people think about meditation they think it’s for a specific purpose such as thinking about a goal, person, destination or something else, but in its essence meditation is the act of quieting your mind as much as you can in order to be at peace with yourself. For those who have never tried it, but want to know some of the benefits in order to begin meditating, here’s a couple of them:

  • Brain preservation
  • Reduction of the ego
  • Reduce depression and anxiety
  • Improve concentration and attention
  • Achieve higher degrees of consciousness

There have been many different studies showing the power of meditation. One of these studies was done in the year 1978 when about seven thousand people began meditating during a three-week period with the intent of having a positive effect on their surroundings. The findings of this study were just short of a miracle and were proof that meditation can have a large effect not only on our individual bodies and minds, but on the world around us. The “Maharishi Effect” was given as the label to the effects that these mediators had on their city. They found that casualties, crime rates, and violence decreased by an astounding number of 16%. Automobile accidents, suicide rates and terrorist activity were also reduced during the three-week period.

Since the time that this study was done there have been plenty of other studies measuring the effects of global meditation on things that we see as negative which proves the large effects that a person’s mind can have. Just like one light bulb can light up a room, a thousand light bulbs may be able to light up a much larger area. The same is true with meditation and with these findings we see that if the majority of people in the world were to start meditating then we would see such a positive effect on society that it can have the potential of creating the next breakthroughs in technology, science, medicine, and other fields, says Prophet Kofi Danso. It is only through the use of a totally focused mind that breakthroughs such as the AC motor were found by Nikola Tesla.

For those people who are more “rational” or “scientific” we’d like to state that meditation is not just some esoteric method of connecting with the infinite, it is connecting with the infinite in a very scientific way. The reason why the Global Maharishi Effect works is because of what is referred to in Physics as the “Field Effect” something that is connected to super string theory. The idea that everything we experience comes out of a field of universal consciousness is the Super String Field or the Unified Field. So, when you meditate, your consciousness is able to get down to levels of existence in which you connect with this Unified Field and the most inconsequential thoughts can have a huge impact on what you perceive as reality. So, the reason why the seven thousand meditating people had such a positive effect on their environment is because their consciousness literally affected their realities and the realities of others. It affected the realities of others without them knowing because everyone and everything is connected to this Unified Field, so be more aware of your thoughts.

Conclusion

In conclusion, in this article we discussed what meditation is and the profound powers that it can have not only on yourself as an individual, but on your surroundings and even the people who are unaware of what you’re doing. If you’ve never tried meditation and are willing to give it a shot, just know that you may not feel completely comfortable at first because it does take some practice. If you’re serious about changing your life in a positive way, then we’d recommend you look at some guided meditation courses so you get the hang of it. If you meditate for a few years straight, your brain will be better preserved than those who haven’t meditated. Have fun.
